Fault-tolerant control for sensor faults affecting an electromechanical railway track switch

چکیده
A fault-tolerant control scheme (FTCS) was developed for a novel mechatronic track switch the first time. The FTCS and tested on simulation model of system, before being applied to an experimental actuation system in laboratory. Both results show that this works as expected allows continue operating desired under sensor failure, preventing damage switch.

Fault Tolerant Control by Compensating Partial Faults
In this paper, fault tolerant compensation for non-linear plants is addressed. Soft fault detection and isolation is performed for a partial sensor fault detection. New method is proposed that combine model predictive controllers with fuzzy Takagi-Sugeno models. An example is presented that illustrates the functionality of the proposed method. Keywords— Fault tolerant control, Fault detection a...
متن کاملFault Tolerant Electromechanical Actuators for Aircraft
This thesis reviews the developments in commercial aviation resulting from More Electric Aircraft initiatives. The present level of electromechanical actuation is considered with discussion of the factors affecting more widespread use. Two rather different electromechanical actuators are presented for commercial aircraft; DEAWS electrical flap actuation and ELGEAR nose wheel steering. Both proj...
متن کاملA Fault Tolerant Flight Control System For Sensor And Actuator Faults
The purpose of the paper is to present an approach to detect, isolate and accommodate the sensor or actuator faults using bank of unknown input observers (UIO). Full order observers, reduced order observers, unknown input observers and Kalman Filter are widely used in state estimations [1]. After the estimation of states, fault detection and isolation can be provided by conducting residual anal...
متن کاملActive Fault-Tolerant Control for a Class of Nonlinear Systems with Sensor Faults
A general active fault-tolerant control framework is proposed for nonlinear systems with sensor faults. According to their identifiability, all sensor faults are divided into two classes: identifiable faults and non-identifiable faults. In the healthy case, the control objective is such that all outputs converge to their given set-points. A fault detection and isolation module is firstly built,...
